Whilst we are all disappointed not to be able to attending exhibitions and showing customers around our showroom, as with other responsible companies in our industry, we believe that our current working arrangements are the right course of action to attempt to delay the spread of the virus and in doing so hopefully reduce the pressure placed on the NHS.

We are investing heavily in keeping our staff working so that we can continue to support out customers. We have added a virtual showroom to our website to provide an introduction to our core products and we are currently taking part in a full programme of showroom visits and technical discussion that are taking place via video-call.
To support architects and specifiers we have been granted permission to take the RIBA approved CPD material that we usually conduct face-to-face online and we are currently operating these twice a week to ensure that projects at the very earliest stages of design can continue on as efficiently as possible.
There remains significant uncertainty around the next weeks and months, but our aim is to progress as many jobs as far as we can so that when time is right we are in a position to push the button on installing them.
The investment we have made over the last 20 years in directly employing our significant number of fitting teams and owning our own factory means that we are in the best possible position to respond quickly and flexibly for our customers. We are not reliant on third parties to process orders, fabricate products and complete installations in the same way as most of glazing industry are.
We will continue to be guided by Government advice and the timescales remain uncertain, however at this stage it is reasonable to assume that we will see increased demand from projects that are scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
After a strong start to the year our order books and fitting schedules were already busy anyway so if you are undertaking a project it is important that you talk to us as early as you can to allow us to make as many arrangements at the earliest opportunity to give you priority when normal working conditions allow.
In addition to the obvious challenges that the current pandemic brings from a health and welfare perspective there are a number of challenges that our industry will face going forwards. The current financial uncertainty will understandably impact companies within the industry so we would urge customers to do their due diligence of potential suppliers to ensure the businesses they choose to use are financially stable. At IDSystems we have been trading for 20 years and remain a family owned business with a proud reputation for our customer service and the quality of our products.
We also expect to see disruption with the availability of raw materials, which is inevitable given the current impact the pandemic has had at every level of society around the globe. As with planning for installations the earlier we know about upcoming orders the earlier we can plan our manufacturing schedules and the easier it will be for us to manage the procurement and production processes. Owning our own factory has enabled us to hold a significant amount of aluminium profile for our products in stock and this will stand us in an advantageous position when normal business can resume.
