Video call showroom ‘visits’ replace face-to-face meetings

Showroom video tours via WhatsApp are proving increasingly popular as we continue to adapt our methods of communicating with customers to the meet current COVID-19 restrictions.

Whilst our showrooms are closed due to the Tier 4 restrictions video-calls have proven to be an incredibly valuable alternative to face-to-face meetings. IDSystems sales staff are currently carrying out more than 30 such project meetings every week using WhatsApp video call and FaceTime.

Speaking of the use of technology Edward Stobart, IDSystems Sales Manager, said “Whilst the virtual showroom on our website has proven an incredibly useful introduction to the different systems, for those who have more specific questions or require advice about their project the video call technology has proven invaluable.”

Video call sessions typically last between 20-40 minutes and include demonstrations of the products and the ability to answer detailed questions about configurations and specifications, all without requiring participants to leave the comfort of their own home.

“This type of technology has become so much more prevalent over the last year because of lockdown and the restrictions and we are finding that everyone is much more comfortable with the technology involved. For some customers it is a chance to ask detailed questions about the products and we can get into real detail with our answers – in exactly the same way we would if it was a face-to-face meeting.”
