Heritage French Doors

Our art-deco style, thermally broken aluminium heritage French door systems are ideal for period properties or for adding character to new-build and contemporary homes. The neo-industrial appearance is one of the most popular trends in the glazing industry.

Traditional design

The neo-industrial appearance owes a lot to tradition, with the original style dating back to the 1880s before becoming hugely popular during the art deco era of the late 1920s and early 1930s. Our heritage doors provide an aluminium alternative to traditional narrow-framed steel doors. Their elegance and style are ideal for any period home.

Versatility

Predominantly utilised as French doors with a set of sidelights, the system can be designed and configured to meet your exact requirements. They can be installed as a single door or double doors, used internally or externally and can even be utilised as an internal room divider.

Building Regulations Document L compliant

Unlike traditional steel windows and doors where the profile is typically a single piece of metal and therefore allows for cold bridging between the exterior and interior surfaces of the frame, our heritage French doors are manufactured from thermally broken aluminium with a polyamide thermal break between the inside and outside of the frame. As a result the system is able to provide vastly superior thermal performance, with low U-values from just 1.4W/m²K, exceeding the requirements of the latest Building Regulations Document L that came into force in June 2022.

Aesthetic appeal

The design of our art-deco styled French doors is all about the aesthetic appeal and there is a range of options in terms of the number of horizontal bars across the glass. For the traditional look it is possible to divide the glass into 8 or 10 sections by dividing it horizontally and vertically. For a more modern appearance opting for two horizontal frames to split the glass into three sections is a hugely popular choice.

Weather protection

Independently tested up to Class 4 (600Pa) air permeability and Class 9a (600Pa) water tightness, our heritage style French doors ensure superior protection from wind and rain compared to traditional manufacturing methods.

Bifold, sliding or French door configurations

Heritage doors can be configured to your exact requirements, whether you are looking for a single set of French doors with or without sidelights, a set of heritage bifold doors to completely open up an aperture or our heritage sliding doors which are perfectly suited for larger openings.
